My new toy

Finally, I bought my dream lens, Canon EF-S 18-200mm F3.5-5.6 IS.

Also UV and CPL lens.
Initially I did not intend to buy this lens so early.
I just casually walk in to a camera shop and check the price. Casually, I pick up the lens, and mount it on my camera, and test it out. I snap these 2 photo. Which I like it very much, and its something my Kit Lens cannot perform.
After negotiating, I decided to take out my credit card, and pay for it.
Adding one lens to my collection.

House Warming and Christmas Celebration

My best friend move in to a new house in Taman Desa. To congratulate her, we bought her some nice cupcakes. Its a hand made cakes.

Its a House Warming celebration, there is a little house on the cup cakes.

Since its was christmas day also, so there is also Santa on it.

Congratulations to my friend...

Macro

I bought some flowers for my part time course assignment. After the assignment, i took the apportunity to try snap some photo.

This 2 look a bit weird to me. Perhaps the first one is due to the background, and the second one, just not right. I adjust a little, and got another better shot.
This is the one.. looks better.

The Purple Chrysanthemum. I feel also disrupted by the background.
Adjust a bit, and this is better.

Black and White version. Its the same shot, i just put it in Picasa and make it Black and White. Looks different and not bad.

The comparison between the coloured and Black and white. Each potraits their own beauty.

My references

I'm the beginner in photography, therefore apart from practise more, i did buy some books to learn. Both in Mandarin.

The Photographer's Eye. This is a book that talk about composition.

Colour composition.
Placement.

Basic DSLR book.
Talk about right exposure.
The depth of field
Aperture
The equipment, like external flash.

The DSLR

The beauty of editting.

I normally don't edit my photo as I don't know how to do it.
I have recently found out that the editting function in Picasa is very user friendly and easy to use. I therefore try out. And surprisingly, some of the photos that I thought is uncurable is back to life.

This is a photo i snap when i was in Hainan Island. It was quite boring and the colour is not attractive at all when i view it from my laptop.

After little touch up, i'm surprise to see the photo now look much better. Although its still not perfect, but i thought, its "acceptable" now.

I snap this photo when walking to our car. It was just a random snap which i never expect it to be good one.
After editting, the photo looks more interesting. Of course, there are so many more to improve, but at least its better now.
Editting do save some photo, and turn it "on", but adding colour and contrast is my border line, I just felt that cropping photos is actually "abusing" the function.

Bukit Jalil

It was already dawn when i reach Bukit Jalil Park, the sky was a bit cloudy also. I set my whitebalance to "shade" and start shooting.
I feel that the 2 flowers is chatting.
The path on top of the hill.
Thats the Bukit Jalil Stadium.
I quite like this.
Resting on leaf.
Flower is my home. says little grasshopper.
The funny looking "mushroom"
The fall.

This is really a nice place to practice, not too much crowd that I can take my own sweet time to occupied the path to adjust my setting, and there are really many things more ro explore there. I was there for about 1 hour only, and the night start to fall. so i have no choice but to pack my things and go back.
