KL Tower

Despite staying in KL for almost 10 years, i never thought of going to KL Tower. Last week my cousin came back from Perth with her Boyfriend, i brought them to KL tower.

My intention is to capture both the Malaysia flag and the tower together. I guess i should avoid the coconut leaves.

This is without the flag, i like this better.

Can you see one of the Petronas Tower Hiding behind?
We are now at the observation deck

This is the busy KL town.

The Parliament is in the middle, one of the landmark in KL.

Thats Batu Cave from far..

The Famous Twin Tower was so near.

I find the Concorde Hotel is very beautiful from the top.
Thats Petronas Twin Tower
Surprisingly the Berjaya Times Square stands out from all other building.

The Palace is in the middle.

When i was at the observation deck, i was amaze by the view. To bad that i have to take photo behind the mirror, else i guess the feel and colour should be much better. Was planning to go during night time someday. I believe that the view will be totally different.

The colourful Genting

Talk about genting, the first impression is the Casino. I seldom go to genting despite its only about an hour journey from KL town. Last week, i was quite free, and decided to go to Genting, only i found out that Genting can be quite colourful also.

This is actually First World Hotel. I quite like the way they use the colourful "roof". It really add up some joyful feel to the place.

When i step in to the indoor part, only i realise that christmas is approaching. The Christmas deco was really nice. But too bad that i didn't do a good job. The indoor photo looks quite dull and it doesn't show any joyful feel in the photo.
The indoor theme park was equally merry. The first thing that catch my eye is the ferris wheel.

I tried to catch the movements of the wheels. After many tried, i finally got this. Which i quite like it.

I prefer the deco at the indoor theme park, rather then the lobby side. The deco there has more "fun" feel. I guess the photo does not show that "fun". I guess next time when i visit Genting again, i shall try to reduce the shutter speed, or allow more light exposure.

Converting CR2 file to JPeg File

I have set in my camera, the output file is Raw file. But i can't view this file thru my PC. I am now finding ways to convert it back to Jpeg file. Anyone knows the way to do it?????

My first Photo

I went to Singapore to attend my cousin's wedding after i purchase my first DSLR. So I tried out my DSLR for the first time in Singapore.

This is the photo i took from the hotel. I like the shining white church. Too bad that i can open the window and take this photo, and i feel that the photo is a bit dark.

This is another shot of another church. I feel that it's still not bright enough.

These are the few of the photo i like best.

The christmas tree at Bugis is very nice. I think this time its over exposure.

I guess i still haven't really know to control the lighting exposure. Hopefully that my next photo will have a better result.

Choosing my DSLR

Initially when i decided to purchase my first DSLR, i have 2 models in my mind. Its either Nikon D40 or Nikon D60. Being a big fan of Nikon (My first SLR was a nikon), i never thought of choosing other brand. After doing some research, i find that Nikon D60 has the most votes. Therefore i decided to purchase the Nikon D60.

When I was in the shop, i was recommended another comparison camera Canon 1000D. When I tried both Nikon D60 and Canon 1000D in my hands, i was hold back by the Canon function. I find that Canon 1000D was more user friendly to me. And according to my friend that accompany me to the shop, it is true that I may need more time to go thru the Nikon manual to start using it. But Canon is definitely easier to use for a beginer. Well, i'm lazy, so i change my mind to Canon. Of course one of the reason also because that i feel more confident with the test photo that i snap using Canon compared to Nikon. Perhaps one day when i'm in more advance stage i'll come back to Nikon.

PS: Choosing a DSLR is quite personal. I may think that A canon 1000D suits me, but it may not suit other people. its best if you can just test it out before decide which one to go for.

My Photography Journey

I started to learn photography when i was 16, which i own a SLR.
However back in that time i was only a secondary school student and using a SLR requires quite a lot of money, buying film, developing the negatives, which for me was a huge burden. I have no choice but to give up.

Now that i'm working, and i can already afford a DSLR. The beauty of a DSLR is no film require, and i can view the visual that i snap instantly, which also give me chances to check and re-take the photo if i'm not too satisfied with the photo effect.

I'll start to post all my photos that i'm happy with, and hopefully when i compare the photo in future, i can see a very obvious improvement.
